Faded beauty
This place sits quietly beside the road. I can only imagine how grand she looked when people lived there. There isn't another house around for some bit, so it's easy to imagine a light burning in the window welcoming it's family home.

She must have been a beauty in her day. Abandoned and neglected houses are very sad. Nice image and processing.
Martie: Thanks Marcie. I agree that these abandoned houses are so sad, and there are so many of them in this area!
This was quite a house in its day. Very sad.
Martie: You are so right, Sherri. Thanks for stopping by and the comment.
Nice capture.. somehow made me think of the movie "the ruins"..
You really can see the beauty that once was here. It was a lovely home and you have captured excellent detail. I like your image.
She must have a grand old dame in her time, Martie, yes. I have a feeling this is the kind of place that has a light burning ever so often, scaring the living daylights outta passers-by.
Wouldn't it be a challange to renovate the place, or to rebuild it the way it was, this is a very good picture, very welll taken.
I would love to put my light in this house...and be happy.
Beautiful place and nice capture
Can you have the electricity put on, I'm moving in, and you know I have to have my coffee
Martie you wonder why such a great looking house could be allow to get to this state.you have capture this very well.
This is a wonderful picture of gradual decay. Let's hope someone rescues it!
Faded, but with a lot of character
Oh dear! What a great shame! Witha little TLC (and a re-route of those power lines) this would be a lovely home, I should think.
This must have been such a serene, majestic abode in it's hey day. So sad to see it unloved and unlived in.
A fantastic photograph which captures the character and sadness of this beautiful house
It probably could tell some stories. Sad to see a once fine house reduced to this
With the real estate down, this in California in today's market would still fetch 500,000
Very well caught, Martie. I love this picture because I love pictures of old houses and barns that have seen a lot more days behind them than in front of them.
It is a beauty, and you captured her well.
It must have been quite a grand place! Wonderful capture
Wow, this is creepy and beautiful at the same time. It's a shame she is in such a state.
Hi Martie, Are you back in the states now? this dosen't look like Japan. Nice image regardless.
Like in a tale!
